Bassist for The Litch Brothers, Dilettante, NOIR, Red Teddy
Ben is a versatile, intuitive, and imaginative bassist hailing from the sun-washed valleys of Southern Oregon. Now making his home in Appleton, Wisconsin, Ben primarily plays jazz and bluegrass music and performs, records, and tours across the U.S. and beyond. He’s had the honor of sharing the bill with artists such as Ron Block, John Reischman, and Christian Sands.
His love of jazz and related improvised music led him to study at Lawrence Conservatory of Music, where he studied with notable jazz performers and educators such as Mark Urness, Bill Carrothers, Jose Encarnacion, and Nadje Noordhuis. He was very musically active, writing for and performing in jazz combos, big bands, and many student groups across a myriad of popular music genres.
